If you have signed up for a Shudder trial or a full subscription via Google Play, you can cancel it on your Android phone or tablet with these steps. 

  • Open a browser on your computer or Android device and open the subscription page
  • Click “Cancel Subscription” next to the Shudder app.
  • Click “Cancel Subscription” again to confirm this action. 

Now open “Settings” on your Android phone or tablet, head to “Apps” > “Shudder” > “Uninstall,” and tap “Ok” to uninstall the Shudder app from your device. 

Next, you will receive a Google Play email confirming the unsubscription status, and it will stop at the end of your current Shudder billing cycle for the month.

Using Play Store App:

You can also cancel Shudder on your Android phone or tablet using the Google Play Store app. To do this:

  • Open Play Store.
  • Tap your profile picture.
  • Tap “Payments & subscriptions.”
  • Select “Subscriptions.”
  • Select “Shudder.”
  • Tap “Cancel Subscription.”
  • Tap “Cancel Subscription” again.
  • Uninstall the Shudder app as mentioned in the above method.
  • Wait for the message on the screen showing the successful cancelation of the service. 

NOTE: Simply uninstalling the Shudder app from your Android won’t cancel your subscription.  

Sometimes, you don’t see Shudder listed under Google Play subscriptions. This happens when you are not signed into the Google account used for purchasing the subscription. To fix this, sign into the correct account and redo the above steps. If you cannot find which Google account you used for the subscription, contact Google Play support to find it.

5. Canceling Shudder on iPhone and iPad

Using iTunes on Computer

If you have purchased your Shudder subscription via iTunes, you can cancel it on your iPhone or iPad with these steps. 

  • Download iTunes on PC.
  • Sign into iTunes with your Apple ID and click the “Account” tab at the top of the menu.
  • Click “View My Account” from the drop-down menu, type in your Apple ID password again on the prompt, and click “Sign In.”
  • Here, you’ll see your account settings; click “Manage” to see your active and expired subscriptions.
  • Click “Edit” next to the Shudder subscription and select “Cancel Subscription.”  
  • Click “Cancel Subscription” again to verify this action. 

Next, touch and hold the Shudder app on your iOS device’s Home screen, tap “Remove App,” and tap “Delete App” to uninstall it. 

NOTE: In case you don’t see Shudder listed under iTunes account settings, you may not have signed into the Apple ID you used for the purchase. To fix this, sign in with the correct Apple ID and redo the above steps. If you cannot find which Apple ID you used for the subscription, reach out to Apple support to locate it.  

Using Device Settings

Another way to cancel Shudder on your iPhone and iPad is through the device Settings menu. Here’s how:

  • Open the “Settings” app.
  • Tap your “Apple ID” at the top, which displays your name and profile picture.
  • Tap “Subscriptions.” 
  • Under the “Active” tab, choose the Shudder app.
  • Scroll to the bottom and tap the “Cancel Subscription” option.
  • Confirm this action and delete the Shudder app as mentioned in the above method. 

NOTE: Cancelling the Shudder subscription on your Android or iOS device won’t work if you only choose to uninstall the Shudder app.

6. Canceling Shudder On the Website

If you have purchased the Shudder free trial via credit card from the Shudder website, you can unsubscribe from it using your account in the following way:

  • Open a web browser on your smartphone, tablet, or iPad and go to the Shudder website. 
  • Log into your account.  
  • Select “My Account.” 
  • Head to “Membership Settings.”
  • Select “Cancel Membership” from the drop-down menu.
  • Confirm the free trial cancellation by selecting “I want to cancel” at the bottom options, and you won’t be billed at the end of 7 days.

Next, uninstall the Shudder app, and this will stop the service from charging you after your subscription ends.  

NOTE: If you have signed up for a Shudder free trial using PayPal, log into your PayPal account and cancel Shudder recurring payments to end the free trial and stop being billed at the end of 7 days.
