ITVX Not Working On Sky Glass

ITVX Not Working On Sky Glass? Get Channel Access Back

Is the ITVX app not working on your Sky Glass TV, keeps stopping while loading, or crashes when streaming?

To help figure out your problem, we’ll explore the potential reasons and how you can resolve them with easy step-by-step instructions.

Why does ITVX not work on Sky Glass?

  • Glass TV firmware is glitching or outdated.
  • There are network connectivity issues between the Sky Glass TV.
  • Internet speed is slow.
  • ITVX app is malfunctioning.

How do I get ITVX to work on my Sky Glass?

1. Check Wi-Fi Connectivity

ITVX and other streaming apps won’t work on Sky Glass if the TV can’t connect or stay connected to a Wi-Fi network. To confirm this and resolve network connectivity issues:

  • Press the “Home” button on the Sky remote to access the main menu screen.
  • Select “Settings.”
  • Choose “Set Up.”
  • Select “Network.”
  • Make sure the Glass TV is connected to a Wi-Fi network and has internet access.
  • If not, select a Wi-Fi from the list of available networks, type in your network’s login credentials, and wait for the TV to establish a connection.
  • Alternatively, connect your TV to the router using an Ethernet cable for trouble-free internet access without facing Wi-Fi connectivity issues.

2. Resolve Internet Speed Issues

If Sky Glass is connected to a network, but the internet speed or Wi-Fi signal strength is poor, ITVX won’t load, work, or crash often. To fix this, move the Glass TV closer to the router and see if the speed restores after receiving better Wi-Fi signals.

Still facing the same issue? Turn off your router or modem, plug out all the cables from the back, along with the power cable at the mains, wait for a few minutes, and plug everything back in. This will power cycle the router/modem and refresh the settings that may have been responsible for the internet lag.

Now open the ITVX app on your Sky Glass TV and check if it starts to work again.

3. Power Cycle Glass TV

The Sky Glass software or hardware may be experiencing temporary glitches, failing to stream ITVX channels. Luckily, you can quickly resolve this problem by power cycling the TV in the following way.

  • Press the “Power” button on the TV’s remote to switch it off and remove all the cables from the back and the power cable at the mains.
  • Wait about 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power cable back into the mains and reconnect all the wires to the Glass TV.
  • Wait another 30 seconds.
  • Press the Power button on the TV to turn it on, open the ITVX app, and it will start working.

You can also refresh the ITVX app to load it again on your Sky Glass TV.

4. Update TV Software

An outdated Sky Glass software can cause ITVX to malfunction due to compatibility issues. However, you can fix this by updating the device firmware by following the below steps:

  • Power on the TV and press the Home button on the Glass remote.
  • Open “Settings.”
  • Head to “System Management.”
  • Select “Reset and Updates.”
  • Choose “Updates.”
  • Select “Check for Updates.”
  • Next, wait till the Glass TV to check for updates and download and install them.
  • Open ITVX and verify the fix.

5. Factory Reset Sky Glass

If none of the above solutions work to fix ITVX on Sky Glass, a factory reset might be in order. To do this:

  • Just like the above method, head to “Settings” > “System Management” > “Reset and Updates.”
  • Choose “Factory Reset,” confirm this action on the prompt, and wait for the process to start.
  • Once done and the TV reboots, open ITVX from the Apps section and see if the channels work this time around.
